Compassionate
and Empowering
My goal is to meet each of my clients where they are. I am present-focused, using the past to inform the present. I find that unresolved experiences and emotions flourish; creating emotional pain, difficulty in communication and ultimately have an extended negative impact on our most important relationships.
Combating emotions, denying or avoiding can serve to strengthen painful feelings. To overcome lasting pain and bring peace and empowerment, we must explore the past and understand its role today. I provide a safe and compassionate space where clients can explore these feelings in an effort to understand. With self-awareness, clients empower themselves and become their own best resource in maintaining strength and peace in their life.
I draw from a wide variety of orientations, methods and treatment techniques including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Buddhist Psychology and Gestalt. I have Level 2 trained Gottman Couples Counselor and am about to begin EMDR training. I feel the best way to meet each client’s individual goals and needs is to blend these techniques and create a tailor-made treatment plan that is unique to each client and can be flexible and dynamic.
